Animal Instincts

Stuck in a rut? Do you want to switch up your usual look without committing to a drastic change? Try adding some animal print into your wardrobe! Some animal prints such as leopard and snakeskin are so classic. Season after season, these prints pop up time & time again. However, some accessories are taking the shape of the animal itself. Remember when owls were huge? Yep, you can still find them! One of my favourite animals featured in jewelry is the snake. I remember seeing a stunning Sarah Jessica Parker shoot where she wore snake accessories, and I soon fell in love. How can you add animal prints into your wardrobe?

The easiest way to add animal inspired goodies to your outfit is through accessories. You can use a leopard print belt or bag as a statement piece to an otherwise simple outfit (think skinny jeans & a white T-shirt), or a great pair of zebra print shoes to jazz up your little black dress. The possibilities when it comes to animal accessories are endless, and you'll be feeling fearless and ferocious with your new wild additions.

Here are my picks:

Grey leopard scarf, Topshop, $32
Michael Antonio Zebra Print Pumps, DSW, $40
Kelsi Dagger Zebra Print Cap-Toe Flats, heels.com, $91
ASOS Faux Snakeskin Clutch, ASOS, $37
Black & Gold Owl Necklace, ModCloth, $23
Animal Print Stretch Bangle, Dorothy Perkins, $17
House of Harlow 1960 Faux Snakeskin Clutch, House of Harlow, $195
Rhinestone Owl Studs, Nordstrom, $38
Zebra Stripe Snood, Topshop, $32
Small Stripe Hat, Emilio Pucci, $170
Spotty Ponyskin Belt, Topshop, $16
Gold Snake Ring, Lucky Brand Jeans, $39
Leopard Print Embellished Flats, Sam Edelman, $115
Large Leopard Print Chain Bag, Betsey Johnson, $210

Furry Friends

Okay, not the most creative title, but it was the first thing that popped into my head upon finding these pictures - that and, I WANT SOME FUR IN MY CLOSET! Faux, of course!

The above pictures are some of my favourite ways that I have seen faux fur vests styled. From chic all black with a pop of colour in the belt (picture one), to simple separates on the bottom, leather, and stripes (last two pictures). I have noticed a lot of fast fashion retailers have jumped onto the fur bandwagon yet again this year, so perhaps I will have to do some extra searching to find the perfect vest or jacket to add to my winter wardrobe - which unfortunately is a little small, but that's a good reason to go shopping!

Now, I leave you with something that better fits my post title...

SO CUTE!

Have a great Wednesday everyone! xo

Tea & 'zines!

1. This was my set up last night. Lap top on (and Facebook of course), magazine out, and tea ready to be sipped!

2. While I was sipping tea and soy milk, Brandon flopped down on the couch beside me with a huge Christmas mug filled with hot chocolate and flavoured marshmallows. YUM!

3. My ill self! I apologize for looking so out of sorts, but that's just it. I'm feeling out of sorts! I'm wearing a luxe and super soft V-neck sweater from Gap, a striped shirt from Bluenotes underneath and not pictured were my pink sweatpants. Give me a break guys. I'm SICK! :(

4. And my favourite part of the whole outfit (if you could even call it that): Leopard print thermal socks! They are so ridiculously warm that I cannot resist rotating between the others that I got for Christmas. If you can find Hot Paws thermal socks near you, buy them (unless of course you are in sunny L.A. and not rainy British Columbia like myself)!

I am trying to think of a cute yet comfortable rainy day outfit that I can wear to work. I wish I had a nice pair of rain boots! My sister has red plaid ones, but they don't exactly fit me that well, and I would be less than comfy if I tried to squeeze into them and wear them to work all day. Yay, work. Hey, at least it's not a hard job, and I did all the "challenging" things yesterday (which basically included doing the pay checks, although that was finished in half an hour, tops).

Hope it's not a miserable day outside for you guys! Wear a pretty dress for me without tights - at this point I don't even think tights would keep my legs warm since the rain falling from the sky is like a slushy mess.

Talk to you all soon!

Holly xoxo

"I like my money where I can see it - hanging in my closet."

If you know me, you know that I love anything girly and dainty. Above are a few things that I think are absolutely adorable! Pony hair bags, PINK! in any shade, leopard print anything, and bows, bows, bows. I can't get enough!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday! Usually my work is closed Mondays, but I had to work yesterday, and it has thrown me off my routine! I feel like it should be Thursday tomorrow, but of course, it's only Wednesday. Oh well. One more day closer to Christmas!
Have a fabulous night everyone!
Love, Holly!
