Black & Blue

 Black is the perfect shade in that it's simple, elegant, and sleek. You can match anything with black which makes it the great base colour for an outfit, especially with bright hues and neutral tones. It is easy to reach for black when the "what do I wear today?" dilemma arises (I have been there many times!), and you can feel free to pile on the accessories (a la Leighton Meester).

 

Blue is similar to black in the sense that you can add a ton of accessories to jazz things up or wear it in a funky texture, such as fur or snakeskin. Although winter is coming to an end, a rich blue hue is one of my favourite colours of the colder months. And, it looks as if blue will be making a comeback... Case in point: Coco Rocha in Zac Posen (what an amazing final look!) for Fall 2012.

 

Finally, black and blue come together in perfect matrimony to create an equally perfect outfit. I mean, you really can't go wrong with this combination! Whether you splash blue (or black) on your nails or use it as a bold statement colour of your outfit, the two colours work well together and look elegant and polished. It will be fun to mix in some brighter shades of blue once spring is upon us!

Gossip Girls

Gossip Girl has been known not only for the drama and love triangles between characters, but also for the fashion. Although I am not a religious watcher, the times I have seen the show, I have always been mesmerized by their clothing. Even Serena (who I don't exactly care for) has some pretty killer outfits. The next few pictures feature some snap shots from tonight's episode. Note: Fashion spoilers in 3, 2, 1...

One of my favourite things about Blair's style is the effortless lady like details and feminine touches that go into each outfit. Gold buckles on her shoes? Check. Pattern tights? Check. Floaty blouses & printed skirts? Check, check. Working these aspects into my OWN wardrobe? Working on it.

Stunning and elegant, with a new twist on the little black dress: the little RED dress. New York Fashion week this year was filled with pops of red and magenta hues, and it looks as if the stylists over at Gossip Girl got the hint as well.

Lily is wearing a CH Caroline Herrera dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, Sequin earrings, Sharouk bracelet & Swarovski rings.

Miss Meester

1. Leighton Meester at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. I've always been a fan of her dark hair, and it looks so unbelievably lush and shiny!

2. 2009 Emmys, sporting a tousled up-do! I love the earrings she has here. Must find a duplicate!

3. Remember when Leighton Meester was the face for Herbal Essences? Yes, here's a shot from one of her ads in 2009. Although the darker brown (in picture one) is more bold, I like this softer brown. It flatters her skin more, and I'm a huge fan of the golden tones in her hair!

I wanted to do a quick post for you guys today before I went to work - in 5 hours. I am having mixed feelings about this job lately, but I don't know what to do since I haven't been been paid yet or worked for more than a month there. There are other factors that are making me hesitant to stay, but maybe it's too early to decide. Anyway, who knows. I'll see how things go tonight.

Back in Black

1. Kate Bosworth in a leather topped Chloe dress. When I think of Kate Bosworth I think beach chic - loose wavey hair, oversized shirts, boyfriend jeans... Or an outfit that is prim and proper and very lady like! She is a stunner in this dress. The only thing I would change (if I were to wear the dress) is to wear the hair up. 2. Many Moore in Paule Ka. Now, when I first saw this picture, I didn't even think that it was her! The Princess Diaries & Saved star (should I refer to her as that?) looks so utterly chic it makes me jealous... Of course I am anyway. Look at her shoes! 3. Leighton Meester in Michael Kors. I have seen a few MK designs before, but this is by far one of my favourites. I wonder if the rest of the Project Runway judges would agree! 4. Amy Adams in Andrew Gn. This dress is sweet and sultry with the plunging neckline, short hem, long sleeves & the embellishment around the neckline. Winner!
