Snaps of the Week

This past Sunday was Brandon's birthday, so we headed out to Brown's Social House in Richmond for some dinner & drinks! Being the girl that I am, I had to go for the mimosa on special rather than the Caesar - SO yummy, so filling!

A project of mine on Tuesday at work involved a lot of ribbons. Lots, and LOTS of ribbons (and continued on until Wednesday).

New running shirt from Skinny Runner. I love it already & have used it on the majority of my runs!

Soft, delicious oatmeal banana cookies. I used this recipe, but used 1/2 cup raisins & 1/2 cup sunflower seeds. These babies are so yummy, especially fresh out of the oven. Bonus: make the whole house smell fantastic!

A couple treats before my last exam this past Monday evening. Sometimes it's nice to just sit by the window in a coffee shop and see what's happening - most of the time you see some pretty darn funny things, too! I enjoyed a shortbread cookie (with white chocolate icing, um hello, heaven!) with an almond milk caramel macchiato. Oh, and in the bag are some shoe ornaments for the little tree in the apartment!

Birthday, Part 2

A couple pictures from my birthday week (the past two days). I left out the super unflattering ones though. Sorry, you won't be scarred for life.

What happened in the past two days?

Pornstars (x 2), Malibu & orange juice, crantini, long island iced tea, B-52 shot, muff diver with a china white shot inside (don't have this picture, but my cousin's girlfriend said she'd send me them... Not sure if I want to see. I felt like I was doing an angry face while I was trying to make my way past the whipped cream), skittles shot (butterscotch schnapps shot dropped into lime juice. So. Good!!!!), vodka slime, strawberry palm bay, a chicken burger with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had shared with the boyfriend, a veggie burger with home cut fries, free birthday cake & ice cream, tequila, my mom harassing Brandon for a picture together (or rather, butting into a picture), & a paralyzer.

I am in dire need of getting my diet back on track. I feel like I've gained five thousand pounds and can no longer fit all my cute clothes.

...Okay, that's an exaggeration, but really. Bring on some home cooked food!

Birthday, Part 1

Birthday pictures that I have taken during the first few bits of my birthday week...

Birthday girl deserves to wear a giant birthday bow!, my first purchase of alcohol (Yellow Tail sparkling wine) & a gift from my aunt (Baja Rosa), White peach bellinis from Earls (seriously, these are delicious. I couldn't decide if I wanted a BRO-llini (double the size) or to try a new drink), I couldn't stop taking pictures of this delicious drink, Brandon had AlbinoRhino pale ale (disgusting, but I'm not a beer kinda chick), the best calamari I think I've ever devoured in my life (I shared, don't worry), chicken quesidilla with a spinach & feta side salad with candied pecans and shredded apple (HOLY YUM & holy SPICY for the quesidillas!), raspberry mojito with real raspberries inside (tricky to drink with a straw, so I asked the server for a spoon... Yeah...), Chocolate cake with cream cheese icing & strawberries.

We were officially stuffed at the end of the night! I'm still trying to think of what I want to do tonight. Dinner somewhere, maybe? Drinks somewhere? What do YOU guys suggest?

Happy Birthday to Me!

It's finally here. Yes, the most important day of all days. In fact, I heard it's going to be made into an official holiday (but that's just a rumor).

I'm 19 today! And yes, Rihanna was at my party. Who's that chick, who's that chick?

In all seriousness, I will have a birthday post up sometime soon. I have declared this week my birthday week, so celebrating is in order! :)

Early Festivities

I apologize for no updates yesterday! I had a half day at work, then went to my best friend Lauren's house for an early birthday celebration/visit since she is home from reading break. Here are a few pictures from yesterday...

1. Around 9:00 am yesterday there was tons of snow. All of a sudden flurries were falling from the sky, and this was the view from inside my car window while I was going to work (prior to driving).

2. This was yesterday as well. I know posting about the weather is super boring, but the weather in British Columbia is super crazy. Snow, rain, gloomy & a little bit of sun (that didn't last long at all).

3. Lauren made a delicious dinner for us last night! Rice, veggie meat balls & veggies in marinara sauce. It's basically our go-to dinner (and it alternates between bagels and last night's cheese scone on the side).

4. Before dinner we began our Sex & the City marathon. We made it through the first season last night in between chit chatting and getting dinner. Note: we also gorged on chips, candy & washed it down with strawberry soy milk. Heaven!

5. Present time! I got a fabulous picture of Marilyn Monroe that I need to frame ASAP, and she also got me a mini martini shaker, cosmopolitan mix, sugar for the rim & little olive picks. The martini shaker is pink and sparkly. How much better does it get?

I hope you all are having a good week! I have a day off tomorrow, but then it's back to work Sunday and it looks like next week is getting busy as well. So much work, so little time (or so it feels like).

Also: A question for you Vancouver readers. Which area is the best to live & not a bad commute from downtown? I'm looking into moving to Vancouver for school in the fall, but I need to find a place!

Happy Birthday to Sarah!

1. Birthday napkins on the table! 2. Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing, sprinkles & paired with Coldstone Creamery's Birthday Cake Remix ice cream... Can you say DELICIOUS!? 3. The birthday girl & her treats! 4. My helping. Thanks, mama! 5. SURPRISE! I'm practically rich now, thanks to the money my mom snuck into these cupcakes. What a coincidence too - Sarah got the cupcake with the most money in it (a whopping dollar). The birthday girl was on a roll! 6. The birthday card I made for Sarah. I was feeling artsy last night, apparently. 7. Sarah was erupting with giggles tonight as she read my card. I must say, I am pretty witty sometimes! 8. Picture with the birthday card take one. It looks like she's giving the finger to all my readers. TSK TSK! In all seriousness though, she was doing a peace sign. I just wasn't ready/aiming properly and caught the wrong finger. Oopsies! 9. Picture with the birthday card take two. I finally got it this time! I'm not sure if you guys can see it or not, but I drew a little picture on the back of the card & the caption says, "Me ruv ru rong tyme." Me so funny. 10. Sarah & her favourites (minus me, since I was taking the picture... Ha!), Damon (right) and Rachel (left).

All in all, it was a pretty darn good night! I'm stuffed, I'm warm & cozy... I'm going to fall asleep. Have a good night everyone!

Indecisive

1. I started off wearing this outfit this morning, but I wasn't quite happy with how it looked. The camisole I had underneath was too baggy, so it was bunching up under the fitted top. I'm not sure where the cami is from (well besides my sister's closet), but the light blue sweater is from the thrift store! It was $2.00 and it's from Mexx. I also discovered that my sister wore my Pashu skinny jeans to school today, so I'm wearing her American Eagle skinny jeans. However, she is shorter than me, so I had to cuff the bottom of them, so I didn't look like a complete idiot! I like the look of cuffed jeans anyway, and I can't exactly get mad at her today - it's her birthday!

2. This shirt also belonged to my sister at one point. The good thing about your "little sister" growing up is that you can share clothes! I liked the fit of this shirt way better than the other tops I had worn in the previous outfit. It is by Ripe, and I'm pretty sure she got it at Winners. Also, excuse the uh, laundry on the floor. Yeah, I have blue striped underwear. Don't you?

3. The giant ring I wore today! It kept slipping off my finger today (thanks to me applying copious amounts of lotion throughout the day), so it is no longer on my finger. I found it at Suzy Shier during one of their 2 for $10.00 accessory sales.

4. The complete outfit! I posted this sweater by Urban Behaviour a while ago, but you could barely see the purple and black stripes on it. I'm also wearing a pair of leopard print flats with pink and button details on them (sorry for no picture of that!). They are from Walmart. Savvy shopping!

5. A sneak peek at the two grandpa sweaters I bought from the thrift store during my break at work today. They were $1.25 each, and will go nicely with that blue and white one you guys have probably seen so much on here! Two more grandpa's to join the other. Three's a crowd though, so I better find more!

How lame is it that I actually enjoy buying old wool cardigans? I guess it's not that strange, since I have seen so many people wear them! They look cute belted, over light dresses, with skinny jeans, with distressed shorts, with pin straight trousers, with skirts... You guys better find yourselves a grandpa cardigan too so you won't be missing out on the many wonders!

I hope you all have a good night! Today is my sister's 15th birthday! She got to pick tonight's dinner (chicken cordon bleu, which I probably spelled wrong, Caesar salad, broccoli rice, veggies & garlic toast... Yeah, it's a birthday feast!) and dessert (Coldstone Creamery's birthday surprise ice cream (or something like that) and mini cupcakes). I made an effort to pack a healthy lunch for the indulgences tonight!
