A Date With: My Sister

 Dress by Costa Blanca, sandals by Spring Shoes, purse by Kensie Girl (not that you can see it!)

Patio seating at The Cactus Club! Perfect spot to dine in the sunshine!

My lovely sister, Sarah.

Yes, I take weird pictures in public too. What a treat for my family/friends/Brandon.

No dinner is complete without a dessert. For us, it meant Starbucks! I also bought Sarah a double chocolate chunk cookie, because she's the bomb dot com.

I am so lucky to live in a place near the ocean. I mean, what a beautiful sight while driving home from a delicious dinner in the sun! It was a wonderful day!

Mama's Day

Whole wheat maple peach pancakes in the beginning stages...

Pretty flowers from my parents' 20th anniversary!

To mom, love Sarah

Veggie seeds sprouting!

The finished product. SO DELICIOUS and filling! Or maybe that's because I had seven. Yes, friends, SEVEN pancakes. At least they were healthy and small!

Petite Pink (and messy)

In addition to breakfast, I also made dinner for Mother's Day - chicken parmesan, caesar salad, roasted broccoli & garlic toast. It was SO good!

Snuggle time before Dairy Queen time. I ended the night with a chocolate fudge cookie dough blizzard with brownie pieces in the mix. Luckily I worked it off during my long run this morning!

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day. I love my mom to pieces. She has been for me through thick and thin and never ceases to amaze me. She makes me smile every single day and feel so, so loved.
Love you mom!

Fun Food: Mixed Berry Muffins

These muffins are a lot similar to Tim Horton's Fruit Explosion Muffins - minus the obscure amount of calories, that is! I found a recipe in a muffins & more cook book, but made my own tweaks to it and added things here and there. They are moist, delicious & sweet from the mixed berries. Check out the recipe below!

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk (I used almond milk for my muffins)
1/4 cups 0% fat Greek yogurt

Approx. 1 cup fresh or frozen berries

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Make a well in the center.

Pour milk, egg, and Greek yogurt into the well. Carefully add in fruit. Stir to moisten ingredients.

Grease muffin cups & fill about 3/4 full. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 200*C.
Makes 12
~~~
Let me know if you guys try this recipe! :)
Other eats:
Spicy Italian sausage with zucchini, yellow peppers & carrots. I later added a spicy chili tomato sauce. My mom & sister are away on a school trip, so I have made it my responsibility to cook for Brandon & my dad. I needed a man friendly meal & I think they'll really enjoy this!
My favourite brand of spinach. I'm sure it's all the same, but the medium sized containers are awesome for holding huge salad beasts (and therefor creating a large vegetable induced food baby). I shredded some & added it to romaine lettuce for Caesar salad (below, in the works).
Everything is ready to be put together now. It's dinner time folks!
Birthday, Part 1
Birthday pictures that I have taken during the first few bits of my birthday week...
Birthday girl deserves to wear a giant birthday bow!, my first purchase of alcohol (Yellow Tail sparkling wine) & a gift from my aunt (Baja Rosa), White peach bellinis from Earls (seriously, these are delicious. I couldn't decide if I wanted a BRO-llini (double the size) or to try a new drink), I couldn't stop taking pictures of this delicious drink, Brandon had AlbinoRhino pale ale (disgusting, but I'm not a beer kinda chick), the best calamari I think I've ever devoured in my life (I shared, don't worry), chicken quesidilla with a spinach & feta side salad with candied pecans and shredded apple (HOLY YUM & holy SPICY for the quesidillas!), raspberry mojito with real raspberries inside (tricky to drink with a straw, so I asked the server for a spoon... Yeah...), Chocolate cake with cream cheese icing & strawberries.
We were officially stuffed at the end of the night! I'm still trying to think of what I want to do tonight. Dinner somewhere, maybe? Drinks somewhere? What do YOU guys suggest?
Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you're enjoying Holly week. I mean, enjoying YOUR week ;)
Date Night: Montana's (Cont.)
I totally forgot to post pictures from our actual DATE on here! How silly of me. I swear my head has been up in the clouds lately. Nevertheless, here they are! Montana's has brown paper ontop of all the tables, as well as a cup of crayons so you can draw while you wait/eat/drink. Brandon and I jumped at the opportunity, as you can see. Here's a little taste of our artistic abilities!
PS. The purple arrow at the bottom was pointing to me. At the other end of the arrow, Brandon wrote, "I love this girl." That's why mine says I love this boy more, in awful printing that could only be done by A) me, and B) a broken red crayon.
I am brainstorming a Weekly Wishes post and putting together pictures for you guys! What would you guys like to see more of?
Date Night: Montana's
1. Snapping pictures of myself while I was getting ready to go out with Brandon tonight. We don't go out a lot, and by going out I mean dinners, movies, etc. However, last night we both agreed to go to Montana's. It's a log cabin styled restaurant that has such good food! I couldn't believe how full I was after!
2. WHAT THE -- Who is that girl in the mirror!? Thought it was funny!
3. This was my whole entire day. Reading magazines, blogs, and lounging on the couch. Yes, the pink sweatpants may or may not have made an appearance (yes, I'm addicted).
4. Jacket: Winners, Skinny jeans: Pashu (also from Winners), Floral shirt: CostaBlanca, Heels: XOXO patent mary jane pumps.
5. Outfit without the jacket (I don't think I was wearing shoes either).
6. I thought about wearing this glitzy shirt with my outfit, but I decided it was too dressy for Montana's, so I opted for the more casual T!
I know my pictures aren't in order, but that's exactly why I decided to do the list thing and explain things there.
Exciting news:
I applied at a restaurant called Odika on Saturday after work at the spa. Yesterday I had an interview, and today was my first day. Talk about things moving fast! I only worked for a couple hours, but I am back into the swing of things as far as waitressing goes! I am excited for my next shift on Saturday :) I will be working Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at Odika's, and Tuesday at the spa. I might also be working some evenings at the restaurant - weeooh, tips!
I'm hoping to go into Duncan tonight and find some more shirts for work. Surprisingly, I don't have very many basic black shirts (or cute ones, either, besides the one I'm wearing now). I also want to find a PINK (yes, must be pink) wireless mouse and a laptop case. Hopefully I'll have some company too!
Have a wonderful evening, lovelies!
Holly xoxo
