January Fitness Favourites

I always wonder how many people set fitness related goals once January 1st rolls around. While I have fitness goals of my own (I'm currently training for my first half marathon), I also make an effort to look good (or at LEAST wear the proper gear) while breaking a sweat. Look good, feel good, do good, right?

I wanted to share with you some fitness gear that I am loving this month. It is important to have the right apparel when you are participating in a sport, whether it's yoga or running or cycling, as it will not only help you perform better, but it will help you stay cool and comfortable during your work out, too.

Here are my favourites:

Adidas "Falcon Elite" Runners: $66 (WOW, wicked deal for runners!)
Nike "Free 3.0" Runners: $91
Nike Reversible Running Headband: $18
Adidas Blue Mesh Running Shirt: (No price available)
Old Navy Yoga Mat: $15
Victoria's Secret Yoga Apparel: $20+
Nike "6.0 Icon" Hoodie: $53
Lululemon "Run: Back on Track" Pullover: $108
Lululemon Duffle Bag: $39
Nike Two-in-One Tempo Track Shorts: $51

Anchors Away!

I apologize for being so late on a new post. I couldn't find my camera cord for the longest time, and it was especially frustrating since I KNEW I had JUST had it (you know those moments?), and my sister found it on the arm chair in the living room. Turns out I wasn't looking hard enough!

Here is a random mish-mash of pictures for you guys. I forgot I had this purple shirt, and I was planning on wearing it with some cuffed skinny jeans & oxfords today, but of course I haven't been able to find my jeans, so that outfit was a no-go. Perhaps my sister should take a look for them. Anyway, this is the (boring) outfit I came up with:

Button up shirt: Old Navy, Jeggings: Smart Set, Necklace: Aldo Accessories

Oh, and those cookies? Hurry on over to my house - there's still some left (and they are mighty yummy, too)!

Sequin City

Okay, I'm pretty much caught up on all the outfits now. I'm not even dressed for work, so I figured I wouldn't share that outfit. It's boring anyway considering I'm at the restaurant today. Anyway, in the last few pictures I was trying to decide how to do my hair. I ended up forgoing the pulled back style - does it look like I have pig tails or what? Not exactly into that look on myself!

I'm wearing: Sequin top from H&M, Pashu skinny jeans via Winners, black moccasin flats (not pictured) from Old Navy, wet hair c/o moi!

Note: I threw in a couple of yesterday's eats as well. I haven't had eggs in FOREVER. Usually I stick to oatmeal with whatever fixings I'm feeling + peanut butter (mmm I love me some PB!), but I felt like a change after yesterday morning's run. SO! I came up with this. One egg on whole wheat toast with spinach and ketchup. Oh yeah, and I squeezed some more ketchup into my life when I munched on some homemade sweet potato fries for dinner. Haven't had those in forever (before yesterday) too!

I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday so far! I have two more days of work to get through (today + tomorrow) before I have a day off. This working two jobs thing is a bit tough, but it better pay off (really, I hope I get paid from job #2 today).

St. Patty's Stripes

I started off St. Patty's Day with a green monster smoothie! For any of you who read food/fitness blogs, you've probably seen the smoothie + spinach mix before. Well, it's one of my favourites (I had one this morning as well), and it seemed fitting for the occasion! My mom also reminded me that I needed to wear green. I felt a little silly in this shirt, mainly because I've lost weight and it's baggy and just looks weird from the front. Anyway, it did the trick.

I'm wearing: Striped shirt from Old Navy, Pashu skinny jeans, Forever 21 flower bobby pin, Dollhouse via Winners oxford shoes, Gap necklace.

Have a fabulous Friday everyone! I know I'm a bit behind on outfit posts STILL. I'm debating whether I should post today's outfit TODAY or wait until tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, more work. Woooh. On the up side, I'm seeing my best friend Lauren as she's home for the weekend from school. I can't wait until I move to Vancouver & we can hang out more often!

Ciao for now!

Discotech

What I'm wearing: Oversized shirt - Old Navy, Jeggings - Smart Set, Flats - Payless Shoes (Not pictured)
Just a simple outfit from yesterday. It was my first day back to work for the week, and the night before had been awful. You know those nights where everything irritates you & totally drains you of any desire to do anything and/or get out of bed? Yes, it was one of those days. In fact, it was one of those mornings because the feelings hadn't subsided during my slumber. I have been running every morning for the past week - not yesterday! You'd think I did judging by the bags under my eyes, hey? Nevertheless! Enough with the negativity. The last picture shows a funny sight I saw across the street from work. Seriously. Who gets their car up there like that without any dents? That takes talent!

I'm a day behind on outfits here. Look forward to a little vintage touch & some shiny bows in the next one (tomorrow)!

Have a fabulous night all!

Overload

1. I was trying to take a cool shot with some sun spots & whatnot, but I ended up with this. Yes, a ghost is carrying the camera. Spooky!

2. Sneaking shots of Brandon while we were out on a drive. I'm not so sneaky considering he is rather posed in this. Thanks for cooperating, B!

3. I decided to put on my best face for you guys. Cute, hey? Frightening, really...

And obviously the rest are pictures of me. I thought it would be kind of funny to put them on here. Although I do make funny faces, I figured an overload of weird expressions would be the cherry on top of this goofy cake.

I am off to find some more fashionable pictures. You guys deserve more than my blue steel look.

Wearing thrifted sweater, Walmart sunglasses (definition of class here), Old Navy shirt, and black leggings (not pictured).

Red, White & Knit

1. Thrifted Grandpa sweater, Old Navy oversized red shirt, Pashu skinny jeans & the same Payless gray ankle boots from Wednesday's post.

2. Silly smiles in the bathroom!

3. Cookie Friday! Thank you to Tina from Carrots N Cake for introducing me to this. I was convinced that my day would be fueled by healthy eating - spinach salad, veggies & an orange for lunch, lots of water, and a bowl of oatmeal to get me through the morning - but I was tempted by the bakery down the street from my work. I ended up buying two of these cookies. One for me, one for Brandon.

4. I whipped up a gingerbread smoothie when I got home (also from Carrots N Cake). Seriously delicious! In the mix: light soy milk, a handful of ice, banana, flaxseed meal, and cinnamon and ground ginger. Try it. You'll like it!

Happy Friday lovelies!

Dance, dance, dance

1. Brandon and I taking a break from the party and lounging in a giant Lay-Z boy recliner and snapping pictures!

2. My friend Lily took the ferry over from Vancouver yesterday morning to join the party. She stayed the night tonight & we are currently eating Caesar salad and awaiting our homemade mini pizzas to be finished in the oven!

3. My shoes for the evening! They're a pair of patent black peep toe pumps from Le Chateau. I always feel funny wearing them, because they are shorter than the other heels I wear and the height difference feels strange. Plus, they don't have a platform in the front & I've gotten a little used to that.

4. Me, Lily, and Jenna taking pictures before the night began. I'm wearing Lily's shirt, one by Kismet, my usual Pashu jeans and the Le Chateau shoes. Lily is wearing a shirt from Old Navy, skirt by Joe Fresh, belt from H&M and tights from Winners. Jenna's dress is from Zara and she wore a pair of black tights, and she borrowed a pair of my boots.

Did you guys do anything exciting last night? It's a little strange to have a party on Thursdays, but that's the good thing about being graduated. You can party and have fun all the time!

Holly xoxo
