Falling Leaves

Red nail polish, Cherry Red by Sally Hansen

I don't want fall to leave (hehe, pun intended)!
Winter is on it's way, but I took the opportunity last week to snap some photos using the fresh fall leaves and beautiful fall colours as my background. I felt that my outfit matched the scene as well - a burnt orange suede mini dress paired with black opaque tights, a black boyfriend blazer, fun jewelry & brown oxfords. Of course, the red nails were a great touch as well! I'd have to say that the snake ring is one of my favourites. However, I just bought a cute bow ring from Forever 21, so we'll come back to my "favourites" in the winter and see how they've changed!

I hope you all have had a great weeked and start to your week! I had my first day at Holt Renfrew yesterday. There's lots of things to memorize, but I am excited to learn more. Also, school is almost finished! I'm on the home stretch of homework and assignments - BUT! That means exams again! Eek.

Have a happy Tuesday everyone!

Life Lately

Just a few thoughts (kind of?) in the form of photos for you! Such as, how do I get the perfect ballerina bun? Perhaps less layers in my hair would help be achieve this. Or, how do I get such a gorgeous brick-walled apartment when I'm not even 20? Also, check out how beautiful the leaves are this time of year. I snapped this on my way into Oakridge Centre the other day when I was doing some shopping/picking up groceries (this time the groceries prevailed (mostly) & I only bought nail polish...hehe). Along with fall, however, comes the rain. Sometimes you can't help but love the rain, though! And finally my favourite show, one of my favourite designers & my ultimate favourite television character - Sex & the City, Chanel & Carrie Bradshaw. It's amazing how influential a television show can be, but really, it IS fabulous!

Just a few jumbled thoughts lately. I spent the weekend on the island with my family, and it was so great to see everyone again. It's wonderful how you can go back home for a little "vacation," and still have a home-like place to go back to. Plus, I have tons of stuff to take back with me - groceries, cook books, cool mugs, etc. It has been a fun learning experience living on my own, that's for sure. I suppose it's all about adapting and changing and transforming and it's all quite great. It's life!

Have you seen my latest post about Sarah Jessica Parker?

Hope your weekend has been lovely! Make sure you catch up on some of my recent posts this week:

Fall in Love With Fall

Nothing screams fall like crisp weather, pretty leaves & outwear hitting the stores before the leaves even change colours. My ideal way to spending a fall day would have to include a nice hot cup of coffee and an equally hot breakfast (my breakfast of choice is always, always oatmeal with a dash of peanut butter), cuddles & cozying up in fall clothes. However, things like school and life gets in the way of that sometimes. Don't get me wrong - it's nice heading to class and seeing how others have styled their fall pieces. Likewise, hitting the streets of Vancouver on a chilly day is amazing for people watching. The style here is outstanding!

What will YOU be wearing this fall?

Monday, Monday.

A silly shot of the boyfriend and I! We went to a park after running some errands and went for a walk in the chilly weather! The sun outside is deceiving - there is frost on the ground & they're calling for snow tonight into tomorrow. Boo :(

I look a little ridiculous here considering it seems as if my top lip is doing something funny. Clearly I did not apply enough chapstick (none at all, to be honest) and didn't sip enough of my warm drink to get them picture ready!

Our morning consisted of waking up, getting ready, and driving into Ladysmith for a cinnamon bun breakfast! There is a bakery that makes everything fresh and homemade. The array of cinnamon buns they offer is absolutely amazing - there is certainly one for everyone! Their flavours include white chocolate raspberry, chocolate pecan, peanut butter cream cheese, almond slice, cream cheese, orange poppy seed, and the list goes on! I opted for the peanut butter cream cheese. It had a nice peanut taste, some little bits of peanuts inside, and it was so warm, doughy, and comforting. The PERFECT cinnamon bun! Brandon was less adventurous than I and went for the regular cream cheese frosted bun, but it was equally as delicious!

After our yummy buns, we went to the bottle depot to take back some bottles my mom had collected for the past... Well, a long time, anyway. For some reason our cousins think our house is the place to drop off all their bags of bottles (my sister often does bottle drives for school), but there haven't been any bottle drives lately, and my mom wanted them gone. Ergo why we had to take them back. Nevertheless! It gave us something to do, and after we went to Tim Horton's for a couple coffees for the ride home.

Before we went home, however, we stopped at a park and went for a walk. Neither of us had ever been there before, and although it was cold, it was super fun! The frost on the ground crunched beneath our feet as we walked along the path, and we stopped for photo-ops every so often! All in all, it was a good morning, and I came home and warmed up with some homemade turkey soup for lunch!

I hope you all are having a good day so far! I made my first little collage of Jeffrey Campbell shoes that I want. It was just made on paint, so don't expect anything too fancy. Perhaps I'll have to show you guys later on!

Have a happy Monday everyone!
