Cambridge Charm

Current purse on my to-buy list: The Cambridge Satchel.

They are so colourful, fun, and come in a great selection of colours. If you are looking for a basic, safe bag, you probably won't be opting for any of these bright colours (although you can go with the classic style satchel for neutral hues). However, I absolutely love the fluoro line & hope to be purchasing it soon!

I love how you can add it to a single-toned outfit to add a pop of colour, yet you can also use it for colour blocking in your outfit. I know I am jumping the gun here since it is still winter, but a girl can dream for sunny days filled with colour and spring fashion! I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Christmas Wishes: Running Edition

Fitness and health has recently become a big part of my life. A couple years ago I lost about 30 pounds through healthy eating and exercising - none of that diet pill garbage or starving yourself (I like food too much!). Although I love dancing (I danced ever since I was 4 up until grade 11), running is my exercise of choice, combined with yoga and some strength training. A large portion of my Christmas list is dedicated to the sport of running. While others think I am crazy for loving running, it honestly is such a good way to get out any frustrations and start the day off on the right foot. Plus, it does wonders for your legs & booty!
Here are several items featured on my running list:

Zensah compression sleeves for calves. This is especially helpful when I experience soreness in my legs from a hard work out and keeps the blood moving!

Foam rolling is definitely something all runners should be doing, but I just haven't gotten my hands on one of these bad boys! I've seen them at Winners and various sportswear stores, but I guess I just thought, "next time." Nevertheless, foam rolling prevents injuries throughout your training & is so important to stave off injuries in the future.

A Garmin Forerunner 305 has had tons of great reviews, and lots of fitness bloggers I read swear by this little device to clock their time, splits & distance. So helpful considering I have nothing like this!

The most important (to me) item on my Christmas list isn't exactly something tangible. It has always been a goal of mine to run a half marathon, so my wish this Christmas is to be signed up for the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon! It would be such an amazing gift, because not only is it something I HAVE to use, but it will give me motivation to work hard with my training and accomplish one of my (many) goals.

Running tights & crops are way better for running than short shorts when the cold weather hits. Unfortunately it already has here in Raincouver (I mean, Vancouver..)!
I already have a subscription to Runner's World magazine (it should be here any day now! Fingers crossed), so any running related books are on my Christmas wish list, especially this one by the Olympic distance Runner, Kara Goucher.

Running t-shirts & tanks. It is so tempting to run in a big comfy t-shirt, but the fact of the matter is that heavy cotton shirts are NOT your friend when it comes to running. You want something that will wick away moisture and keep you cool (or warm depending on the garment). I am building my collection of running T-shirts & tanks, but it doesn't hurt to have more!
Finally, the last item I'm sharing with you is the iPod shuffle. I have an iPod nano & an iPhone, but I really dislike having to hold onto something as I run. Often times it takes me a while to get comfortable with something in my hand and headphone wires hanging every where. It gets difficult and frustrating when you are getting tangled up along your run! An iPod shuffle is perfect, because you can clip it onto your jacket or the waist of your pants (or even a sleeve) without worry.

Okay folks, that is all for the Running Edition of my Christmas Wishes! If you work out, what is your exercise of choice? Do you have any equipment for this particular activity that you would like for Christmas?

Have a lovely day!

Christmas Wishes: Marc Jacobs

Since Christmas is only a mere 32 days away, I have started to compile a Christmas list for Brandon & my mom. Although most things are fairly pricey (I don't expect to get one, if any, of the 5 Tiffany's necklaces on my list!), there are several things on the list that are under fifty dollars (we are not looking at the things above, folks!). I'm talking the necessities - socks, underwear, pajama pants, tootbrush, etc. Or in other words, the (somewhat) boring things you KNOW you will be getting! Luckily I don't mind that at all. A brand new pair of socks, especially fuzzy ones, are so cozy & even BETTER if they celebrate the Holiday season. Snowman socks, anyone?

I wanted to slowly start sharing with you some merchandise on my Christmas list. I will be dividing it according to brand (if there is a certain grouping of items from the same brand) or by subject. This will keep it a little more organized & easier to reference... For all of you super star readers out there. Wink wink!

I kept it to the main bag I want & all the fragrances of his that I love. I would be a very happy girl if I could have EVERYTHING from the Marc by Marc Jacobs line (who wouldn't!?), but for now, I will slowly start to build the collection!

1. Black leather "Natasha" bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs
2. Daisy by Marc Jacobs
3. Lola by Marc Jacobs
4. Oh, Lola! by Marc Jacobs

Have you started making your Christmas list? If so, what are some of your most-wanted items?

Wishful Wednesday

1. Pinstripe Blazer, $39.99 from Zara 2. Knee high socks, $5.99 from Zara, 3. Long sleeve leopard tunic, $15.99 from Zara, 4. Leather shoulder sheath dress, $29.99 from Zara 5. Grey cotton trousers, $19.99 from Zara 6. Leather chain purse, $39.99

I decided that I would feature the store Zara in my Wishful Wednesday post! I have browsed this store a few times before when I had been visiting Vancouver, but I am dying to take a trip over there and actually purchase something! There are so many beautiful items there, and they all would fit in my wardrobe with ease. Every time I see something, I can almost always justify why I need it. There's a reason to this madness!

Hope you are all having a wonderful evening! Unfortunately my hair appointment was moved to tomorrow night, as the roads around the salon hadn't been cleared yet, and it would be tricky trying to get there! Oh well. Tomorrow night is also a going away party for my good friend Jenna. She is off to New Zealand on a big and exciting adventure, and our friend Erin is having a bon voyage celebration for her! I'll arrive fashionably late with a sleek new hair cut and an outfit I have yet to plan.

Good night all!

Holly xoxo

Jeffrey Campbell: Wish list

Okay, so the collage didn't turn out as well as I thought it would be when it was uploaded to my blog, but hey, that's alright! It's all a huge learning curve, right?

If any of you in the lower mainland area or around Vancouver Island, where would I be able to find these? Any leads would be great!

Hope you're all having a good afternoon! I went to work for a couple hours this morning to do pay roll and whatnot, but I came home after to blog, make lunch & have chocolate almonds for dessert! I don't exactly need the chocolate almonds... Oh well! C'est la vie!

Talk to you all soon!

Holly xoxo

New Year's Eve Eve!

Marc Jacob's quilted chain purses. Found at Holt Renfrew - retails for approx. $595.00 CDN.

Christian Louboutin black patent pumps... Classic, sexy, and a staple in every woman's wardrobe! Unfortunately, however, they have yet to walk their way into my wardrobe. One day, I tell you! One day!

Chloe's Belladone sunglasses - Holt Renfrew, approx. $325.00 CDN. As I was scouring the mall yesterday, I was trying on sunglasses and came to the conclusion that rounded frames with a slight cat-eye effect were most flattering for my heart shaped face. Also, WhoWhatWear.com reports that cat-eye sunglasses are flattering for almost ALL face shapes.

And yet another Marc Jacob's quilted chain purse. It looks so sweet and effortlessly feminine, with a light, creamy pink colour and the added glamour of gold hardware. One day (there I go with the ONE DAY phrase again!) I will own one (and it's twin sister Chanel).

Have a great night all! See you tomorrow :)

Love, Holly :)
