ABC's

A: Adventures
B: Boyfriend
C: Clothing
All of the above are a few of my favourite things!

1. Recent outfit to a management midterm this past week. It's amazing how many people you see wearing sweatpants just because there's an exam happening. Yes, post-secondary school is hard, but make it FUN with a cute, functional outfit! Wearing: Zara asymmetrical shirt (longer in the back with a neck/bottom zipper), American Eagle jeans, gifted scarf & Payless motorcycle boots.

2. Ring from H&M (they had a super cute snake bracelet there too. Nail colour is Naked by China Glaze (more pink in real life).

3. Another quick outfit snap. I apologize for the poor camera quality - I am desperately wanting to purchase a new one soon! Dark jeans by American Eagle, leopard flats from a boutique in Duncan, gifted scarf, Old Navy anorak.

4. An adventure through Delta, Richmond & Burnaby took Brandon and I over the Alex Fraser bridge. I let Brandon have the camera reigns on this one!

5. A little bit of hilarious background noise the night before my retail buying midterm. It was definitely a nice distraction from all the formulas!

6. Post-It notes on my notebook were a constant reminder of things I needed to know for my midterm! Thankfully they worked!

7. My handsome study buddy catching a glimpse at Bridesmaids on TV. Brandon made quizzes for me with content to study, and I had to fill in the blanks. He made it fun & a lot of the "tricks" he came up with helped me during the actual exam! Thank you!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! My homework assignments are done, midterms are finished, laundry is caught up, and Sex & the City is to be watched (for about the billionth time)! I'm currently on the last disc of season 4. Good night!

Happiness

Well, I am finally settled in my apartment. School is half way through, midterms are almost finished (retail buying on Monday & then they are all done), internship has begun, and soon a seasonal job opportunity at Holt Renfrew will begin! It has been a whirlwind of excitement for me lately, starting with my internship. I came across the opportunity from teachers at school, and soon I found myself in one of the meeting rooms on the 4th floor of Holt Renfrew's flagship store in Vancouver at the orientation. Next, I met for one on one interviews with women's wear and marketing, and the next day I got the call to become part of the marketing and events team! It has been amazing, to say the least, and the fact that I am able to network and meet others through this is going to be an incredible journey. Isn't it crazy what life throws at you sometimes?

I decided to post some pictures of what has been happening lately. From buying my first pair of Hunter boots and the view from Thursday yoga classes at school, to going back to the island & celebrating a friends birthday (and all the fun stuff in between). Last week Brandon came over to visit and move furniture over, so we went to IHOP - fun fact: it stands for International House of Pancakes. Were we late the to the party & the last to know of this?! I was amazed! I enjoyed some delicious whole wheat with walnut pancakes topped with blueberries and whipped cream. I was barely in three bites before I was full! Brandon said, "I will do anything for you if you finish those!" However, I just couldn't do it. I ate the top pancake with all the good stuff on it, then slowly picked the walnuts out of the rest. I'm sure the server appreciated the mess after I was finished - you're welcome!

I am thinking about doing a video post soon, so stay tuned for that! Hope life is beautiful for you all!

What is making you happy today?

Just Belt It!

Alright guys, here's yesterday's outfit! You might be bombarded by posts today if I decide to put up today's outfit as well (not that you want to see my current pink sweatpants & racerback tank top). Anyway! I wanted something comfortable, yet cute at the same time to wear to work yesterday. So, this is what I came up with!
I'm wearing a purple dress by Vera Moda, plain black leggings from Wal-Mart (not warm enough for bare legs - dang it!), wedge boots from Spring Shoes, vintage belt & bow necklace from CostaBlanca.

I hope you all are enjoying your Thursday! I started off my morning with a run (what a surprise) before the sun came up. Now, I'm blogging & taking it easy before I have to change for work! What to wear, what to wear...

Puddle Jumpin'

If you're like me and live in an area where the majority of weather is rain, then here are some options that will keep your feet looking cute and feeling cozy! I have been on the hunt for some cute rain boots forever, and recently found these online on the Piperlime website. If you are not near a store that sells any rain boots, the wonderful thing about online is that there are so many places to order from! Speaking of ordering online, have you had good or bad experiences? The first thing I ever purchased online (or rather, my parents did via their credit card) was a make up pallet. Nothing too crazy that I would have to send back due to sizing issues. That's my main concern!

Anyway, on to the rain boots! I want to take a trip to Vancouver soon, and I know they will for sure have some rain boots that I will like. Although I would like to keep it as budget friendly as possible, I wouldn't mind perhaps splurging a little (and by that I mean under $160.00 or so. Cheap, cheap!) because I feel that rain boots will be a good investment - especially on the wet coast!

1. Steve Madden Tsunamii boot: approx. $80.00

2. Juicy Couture slick boot: $89.99

3. Hunter Original boot: $125.00

4. Chooka Herringbone boot: $74.99

5. Chinese Laundry boot: $34.99 - What a steal!

Do you own a pair of rain boots? Which pair is your favourite?

Fringe Benefits

1. I had a little photo shoot in the bathroom before I went to my sister's school dance recital. I could've sworn I've seen Lady Gaga do this pose before, and when I asked my sister she quite bluntly told me I was wrong. Well then. Perhaps it was Sailor Moon who did this (I happen to know this is correct, because I was the ultimate Sailor Moon fiend when I was younger).

2. Another silly shot! Clearly I have a modeling career. Oh what's that? I'm going to Milan for Fashion Week? Oh I'm so flattered! Ha...ha...I wish!

3. This is what I wore last night! I spent the day lounging around (still kind of recovering from some horrible food poisoning I managed to catch... Just my luck!) in this Rihanna T-shirt. It is ridiculously comfy, and although I haven't worn it too much, it has that I've-had-this-shirt-forever kind of feeling! This past summer Brandon and I went to a Rihanna concert and let me tell you this. FIERCE, FIERCE, FIERCE in every possible way! I am obsessed! Also, my skinny jeans by Pashu made an appearance in this outfit (as always), and the blazer I'm wearing was mentioned in another post - the perfect one I found for $1.25 at the thrift store! My boots are from Urban Planet and missing one of the heel caps... It sounds a little funny when I walk, but maybe I'm the only one who notices (although now people who see me will know this little secret)!

4. One of my favourite Zoya polishes. It's called Ruby and is the perfect red! It has just enough metallic sparkle, and the perfect red hue. I wore it over the holidays, but it's perfect year round - especially for spring!

5. A string of pearls... And two other chains. I forget where I found this necklace, but I know I got it for a good price! I'm the ultimate deal hunter (except when I get lured into buying Micabella mineral make up... One time, and one time ONLY)!

6. And my outfit du jour! I wore Pashu skinny jeans, Le Chateau fringe boots (and if you follow me on TWITTER (hint hint) you'll know that a frightening man carrying a bag of cans over his shoulder complimented me on them. I was flattered, kinda), and a striped shirt from Bluenotes. I didn't want to have too much going on up top while wearing these wonderful boots, so stripes it was!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Ultimate Girly Girl

Ultimate girly girl
Ultimate girly girl by HLDFashion

Since I have been stuck in bed all day eating Premium Plus crackers and browsing the internet, I thought I would make a new set on Polyvore. Perhaps I did this girly evening look because I have been lounging around, or perhaps it was to give you all something more than a poor-Holly-is-sick post to read today. You guys deserve something more fun and exciting! Plus, styling outfits as I lay here with my laptop has had a surprisingly uplifting effect on my mood. However, I may be imagining this considering how tired I am (blame it on the chamomile tea), or because I can sleep in tomorrow without the worry of being well enough to haul my lazy/sick/tired ass off to work. Nevertheless, my fingers are crossed for a quick recovery, and I will see you all tomorrow!

What do you rely on to boost the recovery process when you're feeling icky sicky!?

Shoe-spiration

1. This is what my future shoe closet will look like. Similar to the one in Sex in the City (in that it holds a lot of fabulous shoes), minus the double doors - as far as I can tell. 2. Several of my loves come together in one lovely shoe. Boots + studs + coloured leather + platform = these beauties! 3. YSL platform pumps. I need these. Enough said. 4. I'm not exactly sure who makes these shoes, but judging by the luscious red soles, they are by Christian Louboutin. I love how the delicate features of the shoe could make any outfit feminine. I picture this with a whimsical dress, or dark skinny jeans and a tough jacket - the shoes are enough to make it more girly. 5. These are the ultimate party shoes! Platform, sky high heels, and lots of glitter! I saw a similar pair at Winners actually, but I'm hoping they will go on sale, so I can get my hands on those sparkly shoes at a more affordable price! 6. Chiffon bows, peep toes, and a gorgeous blush colour. These heels are so sweet, they're almost too pretty to wear!

What are your favourite shoes to wear and why?

Jeffrey Campbell: Wish list

Okay, so the collage didn't turn out as well as I thought it would be when it was uploaded to my blog, but hey, that's alright! It's all a huge learning curve, right?

If any of you in the lower mainland area or around Vancouver Island, where would I be able to find these? Any leads would be great!

Hope you're all having a good afternoon! I went to work for a couple hours this morning to do pay roll and whatnot, but I came home after to blog, make lunch & have chocolate almonds for dessert! I don't exactly need the chocolate almonds... Oh well! C'est la vie!

Talk to you all soon!

Sunny Sundays

1. I have been looking for a pair of boots like these, and although I have seen them in different variations, none of them really jump out at me enough to buy them. The moody black hues in this picture remind me of a rainy day. It's sunny here, but sometimes a rainy day brings out great fashion!

2. I LOVE this sweater. Slouchy enough for effortless style and comfort, and I could totally see myself wearing it with some leggings or dark skinny jeans in the colder weather (with a pair of killer shoes, obviously). Any leads as to where this is from?

3. I have also been looking for an oversized cardigan for quite a while. This reminds me of a blanket, kind of, and it looks so incredibly cozy! I like the feminine details added in this outfit as well - the lace slip with scalloped edges balances out the whole outfit. I must find one of these!

All pictures above are from weheartit.com!

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday! I have no plans right now, besides wanting to go for a walk and have some left over turkey dinner for lunch! I painted my nails earlier this morning as well (#26 Lovely Lilac by Sally Hansen), and perhaps I'll do my toes later. We'll see how the day progresses!

What are your plans for today? Anything exciting?

Talk to you soon!
