Holiday Sparkle: Make Up Time!

Hi everyone! So now that you have your dress, shoes, & jewelry, it's time for your make up!
I searched through some of my favourite YouTube bloggers & created a Holiday-inspired tutorial roundup for you all. I love all of these looks, and I hope to incorporate them into my Christmas-esque looks!

I chose these three because they are easy to follow and incorporate so many Christmas colours. Gold, silver, cranberry, and anything sparkly is always fun to add to your Holiday look for a glamorous feel. Although I am not too adventurous with my make up choices (I'm a neutral or nothing kind of girl, but I DID just purchase red lipstick... How daring, hey?), Christmas is a fun excuse to experiment a little. Besides, it's always fun to watch the tutorials and having a guideline when you're doing something new is so helpful!

Which look would YOU pick for Christmas?

Shopping Finds and a Video!

Yes, here is an awkward video of me sharing my finds from The Style Spy shopping event! Stay tuned tomorrow for pictures of the event.

Have a great day everyone! Let me know if you have any suggestions for future video blogs. I am terribly new to it, and it feels strange talking to my computer!

PS. Sorry it's so long!

Overdue Shopping Haul

Studs, chains & quilted details = my kind of purse, all wrapped into one.

A gorgeous cherry blossom lantern; a gift from my mom via Party Lite. This will look wonderful either in a prim & proper bathroom, or a chic, modern bedroom/living space.

I can't get enough of these reusable tumblers. I drink a huge amount of water every day, and having a large glass around me at all times is incredibly convenient! The fact that they are pink and have six interchangeable straws is a bonus as well.

I found these wedges on a sale table outside of Sterling Shoes. The sale price was an additional 30% off as well... Well, how can I resist THAT deal!? Retailers sure make it hard for people to say no... Good thing I LOVE these!

Denim wedges by Payless Shoes & Marie Claire magazine. I am so thankful for gift shops on ferries. This magazine was purchased on the way home from my trip to Vancouver and helped the time go by quickly!

My mom bought me this handmade basket at a giant street market a couple weeks ago that took place in my home town. I had seen one previously but couldn't bring myself to buy it - luckily my mom knows me & my tastes, and she took it upon herself to purchase it for me. Thank you mama! Now I can successfully load it full of fruits & veggies!

Yummy smelling body washes & lotions. I bought the sweet pea body spray as well (unpictured). Body wash & lotion from Bath & Body Works.

Pretty Polishes

Have you ever seen a nail polish & instantly fell in love? Every time I go into Sally's Beauty Supply, I seem to get lured in by at least two nail polishes simply because I "love" them. I picked up these three the other day, and although I was slightly disappointed in Flying Dragon when I applied it to my toes - it's a matte finish & I'm more of a glossy girl - I absolutely adored Sexy in the City & Ruby Pumps. There's something about glitter that just gets me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way!

What are your must-have Summer polishes?

Beauty Favourites

The other day I was thinking about beauty products. It's amazing how much we truly use in a day when you combine personal care products (tooth paste, deodorant, etc), beauty products & lotions and potions for our skin. Here are a few of my favourite things lately!

1. Honey Coconut Shampoo & Conditioner, Carrot Scrub - All by 100% Pure Cosmetics. While the shampoo is a tad bit runny, it has an amazing scent and makes your hair feel clean without any yucky residue. The condition is SUPER thick & my hair is ridiculously soft when it's dry. You know when you can't stop feelin' up your hair because of how great it feels/smells? Yeah, that's what these products do for my hair.

2. MAC Mineralized Blush & Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss: See below for the blush colour. It gives a nice sheen to the skin without being terribly noticeable (unless of course you really cake it on there). I love VS lip glosses because they make your lips look full and also condition as well. Unfortunately I tore the sticker off the back of this one, but it's a deep pink (almost plum) colour that goes on sheer and has a hint of sparkle. Note: it is a tad bit sticky, but it lasts a long time!

3. Warm Soul - blush colour

4. The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel & Satsuma Body Polish: The body polish is great for exfoliating before shaving, and the scent is amazing! I generally try to use this two to three times a week, just to keep things nice and smooth & to buff away any impurities. In addition, I've been into grapefruits lately - the fruit itself & anything with the scent. If you are looking for a shower gel that smells good, is reasonably priced & is gentle on the skin, I highly recommend TBS's shower gels!

Happy Thursday everyone! I am meeting with my friend Jenna soon & going out for lunch. Not too sure right now, but at least I'm showered (which wasn't the case when I offered to drive Brandon to work this morning... after going for a run & becoming a sweaty mess)!

Lipstick Jungle

Spring is here, and that means bright colours and fun prints in the world of fashion & beauty. Looking for an easy way to add a pop of colour to your outfit? Sure, nail polish is a great option, but on days where you don't have your nails done & peep toes aren't an option, swipe on a fabulous lip colour to brighten up your ensemble!

Cheap vs. Steep:

1. Revlon - Kiss Me Coral - $8.99 in drugstores

2. MAC - Pink Friday - $14.50-$16.00 at The Bay & MAC boutiques world wide.

3. Chanel - Provocative - $32.00 in various department stores.
