What's Making You Happy?

Today was one of those days where the good stuff just wouldn't stop happening. I mean, it has been a great week leading up to this wonderful day, but it's kind of funny how so many fun/exciting things can all happen in the span of... Maybe ten hours or so?

Currently making me happy (in no particular order!):

- Spending New Years with my beautiful sister & spending time with her shopping and hanging out!

- Waking up & having caramel coffee and pumpkin spice oatmeal. Healthy comfort food at its best.

- New perfume from my wonderful boyfriend. I seriously cannot stop smelling myself when I wear this perfume, which I'm sure looks silly to those around me. In all seriousness, it's delicious!

- Stacks of magazines. There's more where that came from!

- Brand new running socks, fuzzy socks, and pink plaid flannel pajamas!

- Successful job interview! I think I am MOST excited about this.

- Chocolate, although the Christmas chocolate pile is slowly dwindling down (probably for the best).

- Half marathon training. Legs. Are. So. Sore!

Shopping Haul: Pictures!

 

1. The comfiest fleece throw ever! I was flip flopping between purple and this teal colour, but Brandon talked me into NOT purple. It seems as if everything I own is purple. This was a nice change & will look great on our brown suede couch!
2. Slim hangers for my giant closet! My mom bought me some simple white ones as well. However, my love for pattern made it hard to pass these up.
3. I also picked up a few things that were for ME! I bring you my first pair of flip flops in over 2 years. I wore them for the first time yesterday, and I must say, I'm not used to all this flipping and flopping! I had grown so used to my sling-back gladiator sandals, but change is good, right?
4. OPI Black Shatter. Yeah, I'm a little late on this one.
5. MY BOOKS ARRIVED! Yippee! After we came home, there was a package from Amazon on the dining room table. What a perfect day! Hanging out with my boyfriend, forcing him to scour the mall with me (although this was partially his idea, as long as he got frozen yogurt out of the deal), buying things & coming home to things!
6. Pink feather earrings! I love me some feathers.
7. And purple (go figure) feather earrings as well. You honestly can't pass up a by one get one free offer.

Overdue Shopping Haul

Studs, chains & quilted details = my kind of purse, all wrapped into one.

 A gorgeous cherry blossom lantern; a gift from my mom via Party Lite. This will look wonderful either in a prim & proper bathroom, or a chic, modern bedroom/living space.

I can't get enough of these reusable tumblers. I drink a huge amount of water every day, and having a large glass around me at all times is incredibly convenient! The fact that they are pink and have six interchangeable straws is a bonus as well.

I found these wedges on a sale table outside of Sterling Shoes. The sale price was an additional 30% off as well... Well, how can I resist THAT deal!? Retailers sure make it hard for people to say no... Good thing I LOVE these!

Denim wedges by Payless Shoes & Marie Claire magazine. I am so thankful for gift shops on ferries. This magazine was purchased on the way home from my trip to Vancouver and helped the time go by quickly!

My mom bought me this handmade basket at a giant street market a couple weeks ago that took place in my home town. I had seen one previously but couldn't bring myself to buy it - luckily my mom knows me & my tastes, and she took it upon herself to purchase it for me. Thank you mama! Now I can successfully load it full of fruits & veggies!

Yummy smelling body washes & lotions. I bought the sweet pea body spray as well (unpictured). Body wash & lotion from Bath & Body Works.

The Girl in the Striped Dress

Before venturing off to the mall with Brandon yesterday, I decided to take the time and snap some photos of myself. For those of you who were looking forward to this moment, you're welcome. For those of you who were sick of seeing mini Holly photoshoots, suck it up baby ;)

Will be back with a shopping haul post for you! I have finally (and successfully) connected my camera to my laptop. For the longest time it wouldn't register, but now we have made contact. Hooray!

From H&M to Home

Who is this strange man kissing my face? I kid, I kid!

 

Ready for a day of shopping & a date to the movies.

I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it in H&M. It is available in two different colours (a light brown and this burnt orange), but I was immediately drawn to the punch of colour. The cool cut-out details just sealed the deal for me. This dress is the kind you can wear to the mall (which I did), or out to dinner with a pair of cute wedges (which I actually bought at the mall, wearing this dress)! If you're anything like me, you are the type that takes pictures when trying on clothes in the change room & then posts them all over the blog.

Summer Inspired

 

The other day I decided to update the collage frames in my room. I usually focus them around fashion & fun pictures I find in magazines, so naturally, I did the same this time around. However, I wanted to look for pictures that would continue to inspire me - ergo Chanel, Coco Rocha, stripes (a favourite of mine), Marilyn Monroe, etc. Making collages is a fun way to document your inspiration and hold it in one place. It's easy to write things down that inspire you, but it's so much more fun & pretty to take scissors to paper and make a picture of everything you love!

I wore this dress on my last day at the spa. It's comfortable and perfect for summer! I found it at Winners in Nanaimo a while ago, but it was my first time actually wearing it out. Hallelujah for nicer weather (at that time, anyway. It's ugly and cold now)!

New Purchases

 

 

1. New Lou Lou magazine. It is one of my favourites!
2. Sneak peek at three new dresses I bought a couple weeks ago. I was hesitant on the yellow one in the middle (the others may possibly be the same dress in different colours) because it's tighter than I usually wear as far as dresses go, but I actually really love it!

3. Aldo sunnies! I somehow manage to lose every single pair I buy... I actually just found a pair I thought I had "'lost." I think my sister has been sneaking them (yeah, you!).

4. I generally don't buy body butter from The Body Shop because my skin is so picky, but I figured this would be a nice addition to my car. You know you have lotion in your car, too! Plus the smell is lovely!
